ANSI 207 vests

ANSI 207 vests were introduced in 2006 to help accommodate necessary equipment for public safety workers, such as equipment belts and ID badges. The 207 vests also help to visually distinguish these professionals from other individuals more easily.

These safety vests are specifically intended for emergency responders and police officers, and do not fall into any sub-classifications beyond the 207 standard. The vests must have 201 square inches of reflective strips and 450 square inches of neon fabric. This amount falls in between the ANSI 107 Class 1 and Class 2 requirements.

However, it is important to note that for officers on traffic control duty, ANSI recommends using a 107 Class 2 or 3 vest.
