Safety Signs and Safety Labels

These regulations apply to everything from the design of the safety sign to its use of symbols to where it needs to be displayed. However, as an employer, it's important for you to also understand the different types of sign materials so they can be best placed in your workplace according to your needs.

Free-standing signs - Best exemplified by the classic Caution Wet Floor sign, free-standing signs give employers a necessary tool that allows them to mark temporary hazards in the workplace as they appear.

Hazardous waste labels - Used to alert employees of hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste, controlled waste or universal waste, these safety signs are often available in label form and in packs of 20 or more. Our California Codes of Regulations Title 22 Waste Labels, for instance, come in either pressure sensitive paper or adhesive vinyl for easy display and in packs of 25.

Safety labels - Unlike safety signs, safety labels are made to be marked and used. Tear-proof, waterproof and pulp-free, our signs will stand up to the pressures of tough work environments while allowing eyewash testing and emergency showers to be monitored and displayed.
