Every year, the electrical industry experiences severe injuries to workers when they are inadvertently exposed to the energies of electrical arcs. Burns, resulting in death or severe injury, occur when workers are exposed to the extreme thermal effect of these electric arcs.
In order to protect workers, Willson Safety is introducing a visor especially designed to absorb much of this dangerous wavelength energy. This visor incorporates unique proprietary dyes which filter the harmful light, greatly reducing the flash hazard, while still providing exceptional visual acuity. Thanks to these special dyesm Willson Electric Arc Visors are suitable for indoor or outdoor utiltiy work where protection from short term electric arc is required but sharp vision is essential.
The Willson Electric Arc Visor was tested using the ASTM Standard Test. The visor carries a 9.3 cal/cm2 Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV), exceeding the minimum requirement of 8 cal/cm2.
